Unlimited is an integrated, tech-enabled agency group, TMW, Walnut, Health Unlimited and Nelson Bostock built on deep insights into human behavior. Backed by its Human Understanding Lab, it delivers award-winning marketing, communications, digital, insight and analytics across the entire customer journey. As part of Accenture Song, Unlimited Group combines creative and technology to move audiences to think, feel and act differently.
Contracting at Unlimited Group was fragmented. Each agency operated in silos with its own templates, approval paths, and storage systems. Contracts were scattered across finance desks, inboxes, and filing cabinets. Legal was often pulled into routine requests, and business teams lacked visibility into the contracts they owned.
The team brought in SpotDraft to provide a solution for templates across the business for contracts like NDAs, SOWs, DPAs, MSAs and influencer agreements. Additionally, SpotDraft also achieved the task of centralizing operations, streamlining workflows, and reducing the back-and-forth.
The turning point came when Unlimited Group was acquired by Accenture Song, the world’s largest tech-powered creative group. What started as an effort to improve internal efficiency suddenly had to meet enterprise-grade compliance, auditability, and cross-entity visibility. SpotDraft wasn’t just useful anymore — it became essential.
With each entity operating in silos: their own templates, approval workflows, and contract storage systems, the legal team at Unlimited Group was stuck in a maze of inconsistencies. Contracts lived everywhere and nowhere, like on finance desks, personal drives, email threads, and even in filing cabinets.
For the legal team, this meant chasing down documents just to answer basic questions.
For example: “Which version was signed?”, “Did we agree to those terms?”, “Has this expired?”.
This led to lost hours every week to manual searches and repetitive reviews. Business teams often waited in limbo, deals stalled, and duplicate negotiations became common. Instead of focusing on strategic work or risk management, legal was buried in admin, constantly firefighting.
There were numerous different entities and they all worked very uniquely and differently.

Without a CLM, tracking of the contract status (from drafting to review to signature and renewal) was entirely manual. Teams wasted hours hunting down executed copies or scrambling to prevent unintended auto-renewals. Deadlines slipped by, stakeholders missed opportunities to renegotiate better terms, and legal had no easy way to stay ahead of upcoming obligations.
During Accenture’s due diligence, the cracks tore wide open. Teams were forced into late-night inbox dives to track down missing agreements. One clause, an unlimited liability term, surfaced just days before close. It threatened to derail the timeline and exposed the business to significant risk. What had once been a slow, manual process now had real commercial consequences.
Only a handful of people had access to the company's external eSign tool, which meant every signature request, even for routine contracts like NDAs, had to pass through legal. Sales teams pushed for speed, but with limited licenses and no end-to-end workflow, contracts often sat in limbo. What should have taken hours dragged on for days or even weeks.
Getting things signed is difficult. Different teams have different priorities. The sales team just want the job done. They don’t necessarily focus on legal review.

Business stakeholders treated contracting as solely the legal team’s domain. Any question, over deliverables, payment terms, or renewal options, meant opening a ticket with three overworked lawyers. This reactive model created constant back-and-forth, drained legal resources, and left stakeholders feeling disempowered.
The stakeholder needs to know the answer to these questions. It’s their contract. I do think it’s really good in that regard because the person generating it has to actually get full ownership of contracts and think about what’s going in

SpotDraft’s built-in eSignature removed the need for external signing tools and aligned with Unlimited Group’s delegation-of-authority rules, ensuring that only authorized individuals could sign specific contract types. This eliminated the risk of unauthorized signatures, reduced compliance errors, and avoided embarrassing rework when the wrong person signed a document via different tools.
All 650+ staff now access a single, cloud-based library of contracts and templates. No more hunting through email attachments or paper files.
Pre-approved templates and guided questionnaires empower teams to draft compliant agreements on their own, while legal retains oversight of non-standard terms.
Now that templates and self-serve contracts reduce repetitive reviews, legal likely has more time for complex negotiations and high-risk matters."

SpotDraft’s Smart Data Capture uses AI to extract metadata, like unlimited liability or auto-renewal clauses, so legal can focus on real risk.
The Accenture team used SpotDraft to pull out contract metadata and go through unfavorable terms and renegotiate them. That's just really helped massively during the acquisition in terms of rather than someone sitting there reading through it.

The legal team has transformed from the department of “no” to the department of “now.” SpotDraft continues to evolve alongside Unlimited Group’s dynamic, fast-paced environment, connecting key stakeholders at every step of the contract lifecycle.
